The Carmel Classic Guitar Society was founded in 1961.

Our mission is to promote the classical guitar in its many facets, through education, performances and social gatherings.

CCGS oversees two grant-funded music programs within Monterey County:

• The Guitar In The Schools teaches musical concepts to 4th and 5th graders through the guitar and curriculum. Learn more about the Guitar In The Schools program.
  
  
• The Healing Guitar fosters spiritual wellness to seniors through concert performances in hospices, convalescent homes, and hospitals.
