New Music Classical Concert LIVE at Pacific Grove Art Center

An Evening of New Music: ‘Beyond Classical’ Concert Saturday, May 18th at 5:30 PM

Anthony DeMers & Carleton Macy Present Special Music Program at Pacific Grove Art Center


Pacific Grove, CA - [May 15, 2024] – Community musicians will perform a special concert of New Music for classical instruments LIVE this Saturday, May 18th at Pacific Grove Art Center! Attend this 60-minute program presented by recognized teacher and guitar-maker of Pacific Grove, Anthony DeMers, and accomplished Multi-instrument Composer and Music Professor Carleton Macy. Enjoy all original music by accomplished artists and students as they explore the New Music genre. Often mixing musical genres and traditions, New Music is known for breaking the norms of traditional and contemporary classical arrangements, acting as an extension thereof with much room for creativity and improvisation. 


Join in welcoming a local line-up of exceptional performers from the Monterey Bay community that includes The Guitar Ensemble Monterey (an octet), The Youth Music Monterey County Woodwind Quartet, and special guest Kenny Hill- classical composer, guitarist, and world-renowned luthier of Hill Guitar Company.


Don't miss this early evening program that runs for 60 minutes and includes members of the Carmel Guitar Society 501 (c)(3), students of Anthony Demers' guitar instruction, and music composed and arranged by Carleton Macy and Kenny Hill, specially for this concert.
