The Carmel Guitar Society—proudly volunteer-led and supported by our passionate community—continues its 2026 Concert Series on Saturday, July 25, with the return of one of the most exciting young artists in classical guitar today: Emilia Díaz-Delgado.
As a nonprofit arts organization, the Carmel Guitar Society is dedicated to bringing world-class artists and accessible performances to the Monterey Bay community. Returning to the Pacific Grove Art Center for her second Society appearance, Emilia returns to the Peninsula after a year of remarkable artistic growth and growing recognition. Since her last visit, she has collaborated with esteemed organizations such as Omni Concerts in San Francisco and the South Bay Guitar Society, further refining her extraordinary musical voice.
Many listeners know Emilia from her guest appearances on NPR’s From the Top, where she has shared her artistry with audiences nationwide. More recently, she was selected to premiere Sergio Assad’s Chopiniana No. 10 as part of the celebrated project The Woman and the Guitar, a collaboration between the legendary composer and Knobloch Strings highlighting leading female guitarists and emerging voices in the classical guitar world.
Though still early in her career, Emilia has already earned top honors at prestigious competitions, including the Guitar Foundation of America International Youth Competition and the James Stroud Guitar Competition. She is currently studying in the Pre-College Division of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with internationally acclaimed guitarist Meng Su.
This concert is especially meaningful for our local community and supporters. It represents the Carmel Guitar Society’s commitment to providing unique opportunities for audiences to engage with inspiring young artists—made possible through the generosity of our volunteers, donors, and grant partners. Experiences like these, set in the intimate Pacific Grove Art Center, reflect our mission to foster the arts and create lasting cultural connections in Monterey County.
Join us on July 25 to celebrate community, artistry, and the powerful impact of nonprofit arts organizations. Enjoy an evening of virtuosity and inspiration with Emilia Díaz-Delgado—an artist who embodies the promise and future of classical guitar.
