Watch: Kenny Hill and Hao Yang Debut The Looking Glass at Asilomar Resort
A memorable moment from the 2026 Carmel Guitar Society Retreat was a surprise collaboration between internationally acclaimed guitarist Hao Yang and legendary luthier, guitarist, and longtime Society supporter Kenny Hill of Hill Guitar Company.
We're excited to share video footage of the performance, captured by retreat sponsor DN Works during Hao Yang's concert on June 18th at Asilomar Resort in Pacific Grove.
The video features the debut performance of The Looking Glass, an original composition by Kenny Hill, performed as a duet by Hill and Yang before retreat participants and guests. The piece offers a rare opportunity to hear one of the world's most respected guitar makers sharing the stage with one of today's rising international classical guitar artists in an intimate concert setting along the Monterey Bay.
